I keep getting asked all the time why it is that I wouldn’t criticise Islam for all the evil its adherents have brought to this earth, and instead concentrate on “hurting the sentiments” of the “extremely tolerant” Hindus. The simple answer: I live in India, for now, and it’s Hindu lunacy which personally affects me more than any other religion. This is definitely not to suggest I don’t find Islam a reprehensible cult. I could write endlessly about the horrors brought forth by Islam’s true followers (the Islamic State) or assert my opinions on its significantly less truer followers (other comparable terrorist organisations) or the inactions of its supposedly devout followers (moderate Muslims) or the extremely distasteful goalpost shifting tactics of those championing Muslim theology, but to be honest, there is nothing I can think of that can viably add to what has already been said.
A few weeks ago I had written an article about twenty five of the many pseudoscientific rationalisations of Hindu traditions floating around the internet. If there’s one thing a Hindu likes, that is validating their beliefs using science. It doesn’t matter to them that they’ve been fed with lies. Hell, they don’t even realise it most of the time. It certainly doesn’t help that they also do have a very skewed idea of what science really constitutes. It’s because of their ignorance that they’re happy assimilating the extremely widespread lie that Hinduism is scientific; they don’t bother verifying any of it.
Every so often, I come upon online articles suggesting that Hindu rites, rituals and traditions are scientific. That’s to say, the loony stuff they do all the time has lesser to do with their latent lunacy than to do with science. It’s extremely easy to call bullshit on those claims and their explanations; they reek of scientific illiteracy. That’s exactly what’s not happening though. Those articles are shared in the millions and it’s not all in jest. The majority of them actually believe it.
India is a country full of idiots. It is extremely easy to manufacture bullshit and sell it to them. Of course, I mean bullshit in the figurative sense – the one that is synonymous with ‘nonsense’ – although it is just as easy to sell them literal cow crap and pee, but that’s a discussion for another time. One can exploit their gullibility for monetary gain and be quite successful at it. The worst thing about being a rational mind in India is to watch people waste their lives and their hard earned money on those predators and not being able to do much about it.
